New collaboration with QAISC and PLOCAN in the framework of an R&D ecosystem in AI strategies |
The CTIM member, Dr Nelson Monzón, has collaborated with the QAISC company (www.qaisc.com), one of our research partners, during the presentation to the PLOCAN (https://www.plocan.eu/en/) scientific and technical staff , a high-technology Hikvision coastal camera system which is applied to the observation and surveillance of the PLOCAN test site, the outer harbor of the Port of Las Palmas waters, the fishery and leisure Port of Taliarte and also the liquid bulk cargo terminal of Salinetas Port. The new network will be at the same time an essential element of the new AI SOLUTIONS BLUE ECONOMY LAB which PLOCAN, QAISC and our research center have started and which aims at developing and delivering in the near future a disrupting portfolio of AI solutions for the maritime safety & security, marine renewable energy, autonomous navigation and aquaculture sector. The coastal camera system is also part of the proposal that PLOCAN and QAISC have presented jointly to PORTS 4.0 which is the corporate open innovation model adopted by the Spanish State Port Authorities to attract, support and facilitate the application of talent and entrepreneurship to the Spanish public and private ports sector, within the context of 4th industrial revolution.
